Everything was very straightforward, I was asked to buy additional insurance by Avis for breakdown etc, so it would have been useful to understand this wasn't included in the quoted price - if it was stated it wasn't obvious. It would be useful for you or the rental companies to provide more information on how pick up and drop offs work at the specific airports. Finding the drop off place a San Francisco was not great, as the address stated and google maps puts them in slightly different places - and the attendant joked that finding the garage wasn't easy.

The only minor issue has to do with the windshield of the car. What ever cleaning product that was used was vey greasy and difficult to see thru the steaks. First stop was the Store for some windex wipes. Everything else was perfect

The airport is located in Charleston County adjacent to the Charleston Air Force Base. All passengers have to check in through the main terminal although the airport is composed of two concourses, all of which are housed in a three-storey building. Each concourse has five gates with Concourse B5 reserved for international flights. Parking facilities at the airport can accommodate more than three thousand vehicles. Options for cheap car hire at the Charleston Airport are provided through a number of major rental agencies that have set up offices at the terminal.

The information desk is located to the left of the airport building's main entrance at the atrium. The atrium also holds a variety of passenger facilities including ATMs, hospitality centres, a business centre, gift shops, pay phones and a restaurant. Each concourse also has a gift shop, VIP lounge and snack bar.

Many travellers take to arranging for cheap car hire at the Charleston Airport to get to the city centre. The rental desks are located by the baggage claim right next to the hospitality centre.
