The link between compare car

The link between compare car hire and Europcar did not seem robust. Having made a booking the desk at our destination seemed unsure how to process the information. The subsequent email informing us that no car was available, even though we had already collected it, just added to our impression that it would probably be better to book direct rather than through a comparison website.

The instructions for pick up

The instructions for pick up should have said to call the staff for a pick up as it was a long walk in the heat and poorly sign posted. When we got there they said we should have called them for a lift!

The district of Bohuslan is home to two airports, the minor of the two being Goteborg City Airport. Although its reputation is associated with low-cost airlines such as Wizz Air, Ryanair, and Air Berlin, it is the preferred terminus of business flights because it is nearer Gothenburg city than the major airport Gothenburg-Landvetter.

Most business clients landing there use car hire at Goteborg Airport for convenience and speed of travel. Budget car rental brands such as Europcar, Sixt, Hertz, and Avis provide cheap car hire at Goteborg Airport. The city is easily reached using major motorways that lead to it.

The Goteborg Airport was established as Säve Flygplats in 1940. It was a military base back then, before it was shut down in 1969 and was reopened for civil use in 1976. Since then, it has been developed to accommodate larger aircraft. In 2001, Ryanair started serving regular flights to the United Kingdom.

Aside from Ryanair, Air Berlin, and Wizz Air also serve regular flights to certain places in Europe. It is also the takeoff point of the Swedish Coast Guard. Flying schools use Goteborg Airport as a venue, and other activities, such as skydiving, can also be requested at the airport.

The airport provides minimal facilities. It has a restaurant and café, a snack bar, and two small shops that carry film, souvenirs, and some toiletry options. As the airport does not have ticketing offices it is advised that ticketing and other concerns be addressed to the particular airline that one is flying with.
