The island is also home to an impressive volcanic splendour and using a cheap Lanzarote hire car is the perfect way to take advantage of all Lanzarote has to offer.

After you have acquired a Lanzarote hire car, you are able to explore the caves of Jameos del Agua and stretch your legs with a gentle stroll around the tropical garden at Jameo Grande. If you have an eye for art, you'd be a fool not to drive to the Cesar Manrique Foundation, which hosts many famous paintings and sculptures.

In the centre of Lanzarote, the villages of Yaiza, San Bartolome and Teguise are worth the time, as is the pleasant scenic drive from El Golfo to La Laguna de los Ciclos.

After a day's driving round and visiting museums and such, Puerto del Carmen has everything if you are in need of nourishment or fancy spending the evening at a bar overlooking the sea.

What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
