The instructions for pick up

The instructions for pick up should have said to call the staff for a pick up as it was a long walk in the heat and poorly sign posted. When we got there they said we should have called them for a lift!

Location information for Keflavik International Airport

Keflavik Airport is the main international gateway to Iceland and, as such, it is also the primary budget car rental hub for travellers coming into the country. It only serves international flights coming from a number of destinations all over the world. All domestic flights are coursed through the Reykjavik Airport.

The airport is located in the town of Keflavik and is composed of two runways and a single terminal building. The terminal serves all arrivals and departures for a number of airlines including Lufthansa, Air Berlin and GermanWings. It is also the main airline hub for Icelandair and Iceland Express.

Inside the terminal building, passengers are provided with a variety of efficient services and facilities. It has 24-hour currency exchange counters, information desks on both levels of the building as well as direct options for cheap car hire at the Keflavik Airport. The Icelandic National Bank has two branches at the airport. One is located in the departures hall and the other in the arrivals section.

There are also a number of dining options available for travellers. A bistro restaurant and a couple of coffee shops and bars serve a diverse menu of light snacks and meals. Duty free shops offer a wide selection of merchandise for all passengers. Shops selling local crafts and souvenirs are also open.

 What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

 Are there any additional costs?

In general, our rates are all-inclusive. Should there be any additional costs, our booking department will get in touch with you before issuing the invoice. Should you object, you can always cancel your reservation with no obligations attached (at least 48 hours in advance).

What kind of insurance is applicable to my car rental?

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.

You can cancel your reservation through "My Account". We recommend contacting us by phone if your changes to your booking or cancellation takes place at short notice (48 hours or less).
