The instructions for pick up should have said to call the staff for a pick up as it was a long walk in the heat and poorly sign posted. When we got there they said we should have called them for a lift!

While Billund Airport is mostly designed to serve cargo carriers, its strategic location near Legoland has made it a common port of entry among leisure travellers. This is why it has improved its passenger services and facilities to maintain the comfort of its clientele. The airport is one of the busiest cargo centres but it also handles commercial flights for more than two million passengers every year. Today, the airport has also become a car rental hub particularly for those who are travelling to key destinations in Denmark.

The Billund is composed of a single terminal building that serves both domestic and international arrivals and departures at its second level. The airport currently handles flights from a number of airlines coming to an from key European cities including Brussels, London, Munich, Paris and Amsterdam.

Cheap car hire at the Billund Airport can be arranged through the five rental agencies that have set up offices on the terminal building's Level 1 near the main entrance. Internet kiosks are located on Level 1 along with the information counter and check-in desks. Passengers will also find ATMs and a post box on the first level.

Meeting rooms and lounges are located on Level 3. Travelling families are also welcome to use the children's lounge and baby care facilities on the same level. Dining options are limited to the coffee shops and bars that are mostly situated on Level 2.

Aside from arranging for cheap car hire at the Billund Airport, travellers are provided with a number of transport options. They can take the bus that goes through the airport and into the city centre or arrange for limousine and taxi services near the main entrance.
